I know own 2 cars the 205 gti 1.6 with the 306 td engine and a 309 gti auto which I have now put the 2.0 turbo 8v engine in, I will be hoping to start the engine in the next few days, it's been a busy week I managed to peel one finger like a banana and cut a little cat flap in another finger, not that a cat would go through it, I have a dog. I had the v6 in the 309 and was trying to get the subframe right but was mivered to get the car out of the garage asap as the garage is closing, so decided it would be alot quicker to put the sri engine in, untill I hit a problem with not being able to get a driveshaft into the gearbox there is a thread on that I am still stuck. this week the two front wings, bonnet and grill will be getting sprayed. I was laid off from work four weeks ago so have to leave the project for a while now still looking for work.
I currently own 3 cars a 205 gti 1.6 1991 white with a diesel engine, a 406 sri 2.0 8 valve turbo in imaculate condition 70k which is a donor car for the 205? and a 1992 k reg 309 gti auto 3 door in black, I bought the 309 at night from ebay, it looked ok on the pics ran a little rough had dtm wing mirrors and no spot/.driving lights. I got the car home and the next day couldnt find a straight panel, little dints everywhere, a few rattles to, sounds like a skeleton having a wank in a biscuit tin, my plan is to put the v6 in it, uprating the brakes and suspension but keep the rest of the car standard inside and out looking. it will be having a full respray in and out full strip down.
