my non PAS rack is about 4 turns lock to lock, are the PAS racks quicker and is the GTI quicker still? i've got a PAS rack on the TD subframe i bought off GTiSte, could i remove the PAS and just use that rack on its own?

iirc the power steering racks are quicker turn to turn, i used to have a power steering rack on my old goodwood without it being connected due to have twin webers on it, when your driving its excellentyou can feel everything but you'll turn into jeff capes after a while when it comes to parking

is that the GTI or all PAS models? considering mine's about 3.8 turns that would make it considerably harder to turn, but having said that i can turn it with my little finger at anything above 10mph

all GTi's are power steering, i'll have to have a look, actually it might of been the 306 gti 6 turn to turn as it only turns one way

just remembered its the xsara vts thats 2.4 - 2.5 turns i think the 309 was actually 3.1 and thats my final answer

i think the VTS is about 2.2, maybe 2.4 but i know it's fecking quick, it'll feel weird when i get mine back on the road after driving the 309

what i'm asking is, does the GTI have a quicker rack than other PAS models i.e. the TD?
